Self-Contained Digital Forms Based on Web Browser Technologies
Today, paper forms are still in widespread use even though there already exist several digital alternatives. This work therefore analyzes paper-based form workflows and existing solutions for replacing paper forms in order to identify the requirements for digital forms. The goal is to develop a user-friendly format for digital forms which is self-contained and based on common web browser technologies. Being self-contained means that the form does not require any pre-installed software except for a reasonably modern web browser and that it is independent of any server-side technologies, thus enabling offline usage.
